Blade disputes are usually decided by what is established during the forensic inspection and the laboratory analysis, well before the matter is argued. Being present for that work is of more value than reviewing the report afterwards.
We provide independent technical evidence in blade claims and disputes:
- setting out what failed and why
- reviewing the reasoning in the other party’s root cause analysis
- stating clearly what the evidence supports and what it does not
The work is most effective when it starts early. Attending the forensic inspection, and witnessing the laboratory analysis on which a manufacturer’s root cause analysis rests, makes it possible to question conclusions while the evidence is still available, rather than responding to a finished report.
Reports are written to be understood by non-engineers and to withstand examination by engineers, with the degree of confidence in each conclusion stated.

- Yes. Witnessing the laboratory work behind a root cause analysis is one of the most valuable points to be present: it is where the mechanism is established, and where an unchallenged assumption becomes a conclusion that is hard to unwind later.
- Will you act for whichever side instructs you first?
- We act for one side of a dispute. If both sides approach us on the same matter, we say so and decline the second instruction. Before accepting an engagement we disclose any existing client relationship, and any interest of our own, in a party whose work it would assess.
